How long does it take to demolish a residential home?
Approximately 5 to 7 days, depending on the size of the house. One day for stripping out, one day for asbestos removal if needed, and about three days to remove the rest of the structure. Add one or two more days if you need excavation services.
Do you clear the site after demolishing?
Yes. Depending on the building's size, this may be included in the initial price or quoted separately. We remove all wreckage, rubble, and debris. If you book our site-clearing and grading services, we leave the site ready for the next build.
How much notice do you need to book services?
We typically book services 2 to 3 weeks in advance. This gives us time to arrange every step of the plan and gather the right equipment. We usually need a demolition permit, which can add a few additional days to the booking timeline.
Do you uninstall services and utilities before demolishing?
No. This is the responsibility of the homeowner or service company. We don't handle installation or de-installation of home services such as telephone, gas, water, or electricity. We recommend contacting utility companies months in advance to ensure a demolition-ready site. Besa Demolition can undertake utility disconnection for an additional fee.
How much does a house demolition cost?
A house demolition in Calgary can cost between $15,000 and $25,000 for a detached house. A detached garage will incur additional expenses, which we line-item in the quote we prepare for you.
